Cosmobloom Stage

for Crumb

The Cosmobloom is an atmospheric object initially designed as a stage set for the psychedelic rock band Crumb. The Cosmobloom is designed to move between states of closed and secure to open and vulnerable, mimicking the phenomena of a bloom, while moving light throughout the venue space.

The Cosmbobloom was conceived as an object that creates "aura's" behind the performance on stage. Designed and made in the creative warehouses of Hackney Wick, London, this sculpture was crafted with wood and small amounts of mirrored arcylic. For the artists, this DIY workflow represents the potential for design objects and cultural creation to return to the agency of the community and local maker.
